Our room-by-room design service is for the client who wants to see big improvements in just one or a few spaces, regardless of whether the house is a new build, new to them, or the place they have called home for some time. Interior designer Paul Miller create dynamic change in these key spaces that take into account surrounding rooms so that cohesion is not lost as the newly designed rooms take shape.
With more than twenty-five years of interior design experience, Paul has created hundreds of designs, each tailored to the desires of a variety of clients. In this time, he has found that taking on one or a few rooms can be a really comfortable place to start for his clients, allowing for a controlled scope as they get used to collaborating with a design expert. For a room-by-room design, MakeNest offers both a conceptual study of your design, such as floor plans and renderings, but also recommendations for the tangible elements that transform your space, such as finishes, fixtures and furnishings. When we meet for presentation, you should expect a vision for what the room can be, as well as detailed selections and pricing to move your project forward.

Once we have a contract signed, MakeNest aims to be proactive about scheduling design development. There are many factors related to the turn around, depending on the stage in your new build or the scope of renovations to an existing project. On our end, we can usually complete the design concept in a matter or days or weeks, with orders for furnishings, drapery and other elements from our makers and workrooms generally taking an additional 2-3 months to arrive. When selections from MakeNest arrive before the site is ready for them, they are inspected and kept in our storage facility until the house is ready.

The price to furnish a room can vary widely based on the intended use of the space, the scope of change and how many existing elements the client wants incorporated into the new design. Generally, outfitting a somewhat large family room with furniture, rug, lighting, window treatments and other accents can start at $30k through MakeNest. Dining rooms, bedrooms and other rooms can be less. We unpack budget at the start to understand how we can deliver impactful change that makes sense for you.
