Background

I began my study and work in design nine years ago. My teachers and mentors taught me the anatomy of furniture, window treatments and custom appointments. I learned the finer points of textiles, lighting and mix through experimentation and daily works. My natural talent is for composition, color and space. I believe strongly in the importance of custom details in good design. I am devoted to my craft. I learn new things daily. My education will never be complete.

Clientele

My clients build long lasting relationships with me that take them through one home and sometimes into another. My works include the urban designs of Washington and Northern Virginia, an anything but ordinary cottage on Martha's Vineyard, a truly hidden estate in the mountains of West Virginia, as well as historic and modern homes in the Shenandoah Valley. There is not a home too small, too old or too flawed. It is the client who must pair well for success.

My Inspirations

I'm never inspired by brand names or conventional wisdom. My affection is for things set adrift and a little undone. I smile at the simplest twig orphaned on a March gale. I salute the artful scarf that makes a dubious outfit something great. Tennyson's 'Lady of Shallot' never fails to restore me with its lonesome loveliness.
